Polar Tankers, Inc. is a fully owned subsidiary of ConocoPhillips. Polar Tankers ensures that crude supplies are delivered safely and efficiently, while protecting the highly sensitive environments in which we operate.

Polar Tankers, Inc. operates five Endeavour-class tankers in the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline System (TAPS) trade, lifting crude oil in Valdez, Alaska, and discharging at ports along the West Coast of the United States and Hawaii.

These E-class vessels, delivered from 2001 to 2006, are among the most advanced tankers in the world.

  • Polar Endeavour – 2001
  • Polar Resolution – 2002
  • Polar Discovery – 2003
  • Polar Adventure – 2004
  • Polar Enterprise – 2006

The E-Class design is optimized to the standards of the TAPS trade service, taking into consideration the harsh environment and short voyages by spending a large percentage of time in pilot waters. The double-hulled tank ships are 141,000 DWT.

The vessels, built by Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, Avondale, were designed and engineered to exceed OPA 90 requirements for safe and efficient oil transportation for ConocoPhillips in the spectacular environments in which we operate.

Engines are two 15,000 BHP, slow speed diesels. Top speed is 16 knots. Range is 12,500 nautical miles. The integrated bridge follows an aircraft cockpit design concept. The integrated bridge system equipment is tied together electronically. Data is shared, compared and analyzed by the central data management system.
